APAMeet the APA: Devin Brymer

Meet the APA: Devin Brymer

Devin Brymer is the APA’s Program Assistant. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy with a Minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies in 2023. In his free time, Devin enjoys playing video games, making art, and spending time with his friends and family.

What do you do at the APA?

My work with the APA involves prizes, grants, and board meetings. On a day-to-day basis, my specific responsibilities shift to best address upcoming deadlines. I work closely with everyone in the APA Administrative Office, but also work on a semi-regular basis with committee members that are involved in prize decisions, such as the committees on Lectures, Publications and Research, Teaching of Philosophy, and Public Philosophy.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I enjoy traveling with the APA for meetings. Prior to joining the APA, I flew on two round trips, and did not have many opportunities to travel out of state. Getting to visit unfamiliar places is exciting and I look forward to more trips in the future.

What do you like to do outside work?

I enjoy playing board games and card games with my cousins.

Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them.

I have two guinea pigs, Chunky and Gracie Jane. They love to spend time together and they often take naps together with their eyes open.
