The APA Blog is looking for volunteer, remote Series Editors for its Research and Diversity & Inclusiveness Beats. We are looking for editors to take over two existing series – the Reports from Abroad and Navigating (Living) Philosophy series – as well as volunteers who would like to pitch their own series ideas. Editors may volunteer for either a long-term series (at least one post per month with a minimum time commitment of one year) or short-term series (minimum of six posts within a six-month period).

Series editors are responsible for:
- Soliciting posts from the philosophical community
- Managing communication with potential contributors
- Submitting posts to the managing editor through WordPress
- Moderating comments on their posts
Series editors must be members of the APA in good standing and will be provided training by the Blog of the APA. Benefits of being a series editor include:

- Getting to explore topics related to your philosophical interests & deepen your awareness of the research landscape
- Gaining professional experience in copyediting, project management, and web content management systems
Information on the Beats:
Research: The Research beat covers research projects being conducted by APA members. Current series include the Recently Published Book Spotlight and Philosophy of Technology series. Past series have included a long-term series focused on research related to climate change and as well as short-term series on specific philosophical topics, such as philosophical pessimism and time among others.
Open Research Series:
This series interviews APA members currently living and working outside of North America. It questions and complicates what ‘reporting from abroad’ can mean in a globalized world that faces interconnected and local crises while exploring how to liberate ourselves from oppressive structures rooted in past and present (neo)colonialism and imperialism. It seeks to explore broader and different conceptions of philosophy than those most often studied within US institutions and culture to better understand how local institutions and global contexts shape the possibilities of research, speech, and visions of philosophy.
Philosophy remains one of the least diverse academic disciplines. This Beat seeks to highlight marginalized voices and includes posts on the challenges facing philosophers from traditionally underrepresented groups, as well as posts exploring strategies for making the discipline more inclusive on the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. Long-running series include the Women In Philosophy and Black Issues in Philosophy Series.
Open Diverstiy & Inclusiveness Series:
Navigating (Living) Philosophy
This series invites seasoned philosophers to share critical reflections on emergent and institutionalized shapes of and encounters within philosophy. The series collects experience-based explorations of philosophy’s personal, institutional, and disciplinary evolution that will also help young academics and students navigate philosophy today.
