Call for New Series Editors

The Teaching Beat of the Blog of the American Philosophical Association has two positions open.

First, we seek a Series Editor to manage the Graduate Student Reflection Series.  This is a series that is currently running.  The Graduate Student Reflection Series focuses on prompting graduate students to reflect on their studenting journey during a particular philosophy class that they participated in during their graduate studies.

Second, we seek a Series Editor to manage the Professor Reflection Series, which is a new series.  The Professor Reflection Series will focus on publishing reflections from professors about how they taught a particular philosophy course.  Professors will share how they prepared a particular course, taught the course, and how they hope to improve their course.

Series Editors will work under the supervision of Dr. Sabrina D. MisirHiralall who manages the Teaching Beat.  Series Editors are responsible for publishing one to two posts a month.  Responsibilities include:

  • Soliciting for posts
  • Submitting posts through Word Press
  • Emailing Submitters

All Series Editors are trained by the Blog of APA.  Series Editors hold voluntary positions that provide a great opportunity to build a network in philosophy.

If you are interested in being considered, submit the following items to Dr. Sabrina D. MisirHiralall at MisirHiralall.S@gmail.com with the subject line “Series Editor Application.”

  • Letter of Interest
  • CV
