“Reflections of a Dinosaur” by Cora Diamond

Cora Diamond is University Professor Emerita and William R. Kenan Jr. Professor Emerita of Philosophy and Law at the University of Virginia. A leading figure in contemporary philosophy, her work focuses on ethics, the philosophy of language, and Ludwig Wittgenstein’s later philosophy. Her major publications include The Realistic Spirit: Wittgenstein, Philosophy, and the Mind and Reading Wittgenstein with Anscombe, Going On to Ethics. Diamond’s contributions have significantly shaped debates on realism in ethics and the role of imagination in moral philosophy. She was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2024.
