Robert Hartman Wins the 2020 Routledge, Taylor & Francis Prize

The American Philosophical Association is pleased to announce that Dr. Robert Hartman (PhD, St. Louis University) has been awarded the 2020 Routledge, Taylor & Francis Prize for his article, “Moral Luck and the Unfairness of Morality.”

This prize, funded by the Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group, was established in 2013 to recognize the scholarly work of adjunct professors.

Robert J. Hartman (PhD, St. Louis University) is a visiting research professor and faculty fellow with the Murphy Institute at Tulane University. Previously, he held postdoctoral research fellowships at Stockholm University and the University of Gothenburg. He works mainly in normative ethics, metaphysics, and philosophy of religion, and is currently writing a monograph titled Character and Moral Responsibility. He has published in venues such as Australasian Journal of PhilosophyPhilosophical StudiesErkenntnis, and Journal of the American Philosophical Association. He is the author of In Defense of Moral Luck (Routledge 2017) and co-editor of The Routledge Handbook of the Philosophy and Psychology of Luck (Routledge 2019).
