Welcome to New Blog Editor Heidi Schmidt

The Blog of the APA is pleased to announce that a new editor will be joining the APA Blog team as of September 4th: Heidi Schmidt.

Heidi Schmidt currently holds the Becker Fellowship. She has worked as an editor or writer at multiple publications, including Qu and The Verve. She received an MALS in Philosophy and Ethics from Hollins University in 2016 and an MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte in 2020. Schmidt is on the leadership team of SOPHIA, The Society of Philosophers in America, as Membership and Outreach Coordinator. Schmidt will become the editor in charge of research and inclusivity/diversity.

She will join the existing editors, Sabrina MisirHiralall, David Johnson, and Michaela Maxwell; series editors Lewis Gordon, Adriel M. Trott, Julinna Oxley, and William Parkhurst; and social media coordinator Emily Rose Ogland.

As always, an important aspect of the mission for this blog is to provide a venue for APA members to share their perspectives on a broad variety of issues within the profession and beyond, and to make sure issues that are important to the membership are being addressed.  If you have ideas for posts on these topics, or want to contribute on these topics, make sure to get in touch with us through our submission form.
