“Great Timing but Disputed Tools” by Ann Garry
Ann Garry is professor emerita at California State University, Los Angeles, where she taught from 1983 until her retirement in 2011. She has a B.A. from Monmouth College, an M.A. from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland. Her fields of specialization include feminist philosophy, philosophical method, epistemology, and applied ethics. Her publications include “Why Analytic Feminism?” in The Bloomsbury Companion to Analytic Feminism (Bloomsbury, 2018); The Routledge Companion to Feminist Philosophy, coedited with Serene J. Khader and Alison Stone (Routledge, 2017); and Women, Knowledge, and Reality: Explorations in Feminist Philosophy, coedited with Marilyn Pearsall (Routledge, 1996). She received the Distinguished Woman Philosopher Award from the Society for Women in Philosophy in 2020.
